Spring Lenticular at Mount Hood. This was an earlier capture of that lenticular I’ve posted previously. I was so excited about this one, its one of the grandest lenticulars I’ve seen. I captured this as I was leaving Trillium Lake Rd from my feeble attempt to hike it down from the main trailhead on HWY26 since the gates were closed. The original plan was to make it to Trillium Lake. I didn’t have any snow shoes and I was sinking through knee high snow. I only made it about a mile before giving up exhausted and running out of time with the light. Plus, with my luck, I’d cross a bear’s path and I’d have no chance of making it since I could barely get my legs out of snow. I’d be a nice hearty breakfast. I trekked back out as fast as I could and I fired this one before leaving to get up to Timberline. I lucked out since the light did last a good while, though I wish I would have been able to compose a better foreground.
